Buffalo had taken a 3-1 decision in Buffalo on Friday.
The Maple Leafs got on the board at 5:45 of the first period as Cody Franson blasted a shot on net from the right point that was redirected into the net by van Riemsdyk, parked in front of the net.
It was a 2-0 game at 13:35 of the first period as the Leafs scored on the power play as Franson and van Riemsdyk again hooked up on a shot and redirect.
The only goal of the second period went to Toronto at the 11:49 mark. Kulemin banked the puck into the zone off the right boards in the neutral zone and Mason Raymond caught up to the puck. Dragging a pass back to the right circle, Raymond found Kulemin for a snap shot home and a 3-0 lead.
Buffalo made it a 3-1 game at 2:15 of the third as McBain's slap shot from the left circle on a broken play got past Reimer, and the Sabres cut their deficit to one four minutes later while on the power play as Matt Moulson sent a pass from the low left circle to the slot where Ennis one-timed the puck home.
"They probably didn't have the best first period, but had a lot of legs in the third," Reimer said. "You were kind of expecting that."
Raymond, though, scored on the power play with 1:04 to play to seal the win for Toronto.
