Stars look to stay unbeaten
Oct 17, 2006 - 2:23 PM Dallas (5-0-0) at San Jose (4-1-0) 10:30 pm EDTSAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars have felt right at home on the west coast.
The Stars look to stay unbeaten this season and look for a fourth straight win on their west coast road trip when they take on the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
After taking a pair of 4-1 victories over the Los Angeles Kings, the Stars continued their winning ways with a 4-3 shootout triumph over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.
Sergei Zubov and Jussi Jokinen scored in the shootout for the Stars while Marty Turco preserved the victory by stopping Samuel Pahlsson.
Turco was been outstanding for the Stars, going 5-0-0 with a 1.57 goals-against average and a sparkling .948 save percentage.
The Sharks are also off to a good start, and go for their second straight win after a 6-4 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.
Mike Grier scored the game-winner at 11:45 of the third period to give the Sharks the win. Curtis Brown had a goal and an assist while Vesa Toskala (3-0-0, 2.97 goals-against average, .901 save percentage) made 22 saves.
