Rask, Bruins blank Flames

Dec 18, 2013 - 6:33 AM Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tuukka Rask posted 21 saves for his third shutout of the season to lead the Boston Bruins in a 2-0 win over the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.

Zdeno Chara scored both goals with Jarome Iginla and David Krejci each posting two assists for the Bruins, who were coming off a 3-1-0 road trip.

Reto Berra allowed both goals on 31 shots in the loss for the Flames, who have lost their last two.

"We played pretty good and had some chances, but their goalie played really good," said Berra. "We just couldn't get any goals when we had the chance, and they took advantage of their power plays."

After a scoreless first period, the Bruins went up in the second on the power play as Krejci sent a slap-pass from the high slot to the right circle where Chara one-timed it home at 7:38.

It was another power-play goal from the Bruins at 3:19 of the third as Iginla's shot from the left circle was stopped, but Chara was in front of the net to slam in the rebound for his ninth of the year.

"I'm just trying to work hard and be there for loose pucks and create traffic and finding some openings," said Chara. "So really the main thing is to just work extremely hard."

Rask finished off his shutout with eight saves in the final frame.
