Wild end Canucks' seven-game win streak

Dec 18, 2013 - 7:40 AM St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Jason Pominville picked up the shootout winner to lift the Minnesota Wild to a 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks

Pominville skated straight in, faked to his left and pulled back to his right before sneaking the disc just inside the post on Roberto Luongo's glove side.

Josh Harding stoned Ryan Kesler on the Canucks' last chance to seal the win.

Zach Parise and Charlie Coyle scored in regulation and Mikko Koivu had a pair of assists for the Wild, who have won two straight games via the shootout. Harding made 29 saves in the win.

"Our guys dug deep. Two games in a row, we're down after two periods, come back and battle back and get a win. It says a lot about our group," said Wild coach Mike Yeo.

Jannik Hansen and David Booth scored for the Canucks, who lost for the first time in the month of December. Luongo stopped 30 shots in the setback.

"We [stink] in the shootout," said Canucks coach John Tortorella. "Yeah, we do. We gotta try different people I guess because we stink at it."

Hansen got the scoring started 8:46 in. Daniel Sedin found Hansen with a cross-ice pass, and Hansen blasted the disc past Harding for a 1-0 lead.

Three minutes later, Parise knotted things up with his power-play marker. Koivu corralled a loose puck and fired it to Parise right next to the net, and he shoveled it in to tie things up.

Booth found the back of the net at 11:01 of the middle session. Yannick Weber fired a shot that bounced off Harding but right to Booth who slid it home.

Coyle tied the game at 8:47 of the third when Koivu found him in the right circle. Coyle quickly threw it on net and past Luongo.
