Anisimov, Bobrovsky carry Blue Jackets over Stars
Mar 5, 2014 - 3:28 AM Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Artem Anisimov scored twice and Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.Anisimov scored to cap a three-goal first period for the Blue Jackets and found the net again with 4:07 left in the game after the Stars had climbed within 3-2 with two goals in the first 3:22 of the third period.
The Russian center has scored in all four games since the Olympic break and has six points in that span.
"Right now he might be as good as we've seen him play in a Columbus uniform," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said of Anisimov, who is in his second season with the team. "(He scored) two huge goals for us, especially that last one the way the game was going."
Boone Jenner and R.J. Umberger also had goals for the Blue Jackets, who have won three in a row. They were fresh off a 2-1 win over the Maple Leafs in Toronto on Monday.
Dallas was also playing the tail end of a back-to-back, having beaten Buffalo 3-2 on Monday.
Earlier Tuesday, the Stars traded veteran defenseman Stephane Robidas to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional 2014 fourth-round draft pick.
Alex Goligoski and Trevor Daley scored in Dallas' first road game since Feb. 5 and Dan Ellis gave up four goals on 20 shots, including three on nine shots in the first period.
It was Ellis' first outing since before the Olympic break.
Goligoski's power play goal from the right side came on a big rebound off Ray Whitney's slap shot from the left circle for Dallas' first goal 1:39 into the third period.
Stars defenseman Sergei Gonchar's wrist shot from inside the blue line was deflected by Daley through a screen set by Alex Chiasson to draw the Stars within 3-2 just 1:43 later.
But Anisimov gave the Blue Jackets some insurance with a scooped backhand goal, his 18th of the season.
Jenner scored 74 seconds into the game on a wrister from the left circle to spark Columbus' three-goal outburst in the first period.
Ellis said it's hard to replicate the speed of a game in practice -- something that might have affected his play after such a long time off -- but insisted he saw Jenner's shot.
"I saw it. He just beat me," said Ellis. "He put it right over my shoulder and under the bar."
Umberger sticked around Gonchar to score from the slot at 11:29 and Anisimov's power play goal 3:31 later also came from the slot after he collected a loose puck off a rebound.

The teams will face each other again next Monday in Dallas. That meeting will end a three-game homestand for the Stars that starts on Thursday against Vancouver. It will complete a three-game road trip for the Blue Jackets that starts Thursday in Chicago.
