Kings attempt to end four-game slide
Oct 19, 2006 - 1:16 PM Los Angeles (2-4-1) at Phoenix (2-4-0) 10:00 pm EDTGLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Kings try to snap their four-game losing streak when they visit the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday.
The Kings are coming off a 2-1 overtime setback to the undefeated Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.
Rookie Patrick O'Sullivan scored his first NHL goal and goaltender Dan Cloutier made 25 saves for Los Angeles, which has tallied just once in each loss.
In the eight meetings with the Coyotes last season, the Kings won just three.
Phoenix finished up a four-game road trip on a positive note Tuesday, ending a four-game slide with a 5-2 victory over St. Louis.
Dave Scatchard netted a goal and Mike Comrie scored on the power play for the Coyotes, who entered the contest ranked 29th in penalty kills but sent the Blues away empty on eight power-play opportunities.
Netminder Curtis Joseph stopped 25 shots for Phoenix.
