Ducks back home, look to extend win streak to four

Oct 25, 2006 - 3:14 PM Edmonton (6-2-0) at Anaheim (6-0-2) 10:00 pm EDT

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Ducks return home for their seventh home game in nine starts this season when they host the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.

The Ducks return after a 3-2 shootout victory at the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday.

Ryan Getzlaf scored the eventual game-winning goal in the fifth round of the shootout after Teemu Selanne scored earlier. Anaheim goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped four of five shots in the shootout.

Giguere has been solid this year for the Ducks, going 5-0-2 with a 1.78 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage.

Ryan Shannon and Dustin Penner both scored in regulation for the Ducks, who are 10-for 41 (24.4 percent) on the power play this season.

The Oilers look to build off a 5-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday. Petr Sykora had a goal and three assists while Ales Hemsky had a goal and two assists for Edmonton, which went 2-for-10 on the power play.

Despite the success against the Coyotes, Edmonton has struggled with the extra man this season, going 8-for-53 (15.1 percent) Oilers netminder Dwayne Roloson, who made 28 saves, has been solid this year in posting a 5-2-0 record with a 2.16 goal-against average and a .932 save percentage.
