Stars trying to get on track vs. Kings after slow start

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Kings will be a welcome sight for the Dallas Stars when the two teams take the ice on Wednesday.

After starting the season with two losses in their first three games, the Stars will try to get back on track when they face the Kings, a team they beat in all eight contests during the 2006-07 season.

The slow start for Dallas is its worst since 1995-96 when it also started 1-2-0. The Stars opened last season with five straight wins and victories in 11 of their first 13 games. The hot start sparked a terrific season for the Stars, as they finished second in the Pacific Division with 107 points.

Dallas' big three of goaltender Marty Turco, defenseman Phillipe Boucher and center Mike Modano have all enjoyed success against the Kings.

Turco went 5-0-0 with a 1.77 goals-against average against Los Angeles last season. The 32-year-old netminder is 1-1-0 with a 2.52 GAA this season.

Boucher, who has registered an assist in all three games this season, had four goals and five assists last season against the Kings, while the 37-year-old Modano has 35 goals and 43 assists in 73 career games against Los Angeles.
