Leclaire hopes to continue dominance as Blue Jackets meet Avalanche

DENVER (Ticker) - Pascal Leclaire has been the NHL's best goaltender thus far.

Leclaire will look for his third consecutive shutout as the Columbus Blue Jackets visit the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

The 24-year-old netminder has been excellent this season, turning aside all 60 shots he has faced. He made 28 saves in a 4-0 triumph over the Anaheim Ducks on October 5 and then he posted another shutout in Wednesday night's 3-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.

Leclaire, however, has struggled against the Avalanche in his career, posting an 0-3-1 record with a 3.42 goals-against average and .908 save percentage.

The eighth overall pick in 2001, Leclaire owns a 19-32-5 career record and three shutouts - two coming this season.

In order to continue his scoreless streak, Leclaire will have to shut down Paul Statsny and the rest of the Avalanche attack.

Statsny appears to be avoiding the dreaded sophomore slump, tallying a team-leading five goals and four assists on the season. The 21-year-old Canadian center collected 28 goals and 50 assists as a rookie last season.

Colorado is coming off a 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Friday.
