Bruins look to stay unbeaten at home

BOSTON (Ticker) - The Boston Bruins go for their fourth straight home win when they host the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

Boston has won five of their last six games, while Philadelphia have lost their last two games after five straight wins.

The Bruins are led offensively by Phil Kessel, who scored two of his five goals this season in the 3-1 victory over Chicago on Thursday. Marc Savard leads the team with eight assists.

Manny Fernandez has been inconsistent in net for the Bruins, but Tim Thomas has gotten off to a 4-1 start. The 23-year-old also leads the league with a 1.20 goals-against average and a .962 save percentage.

Flyers goaltender Martin Biron has been stellar in net as well. The 30-year-old has a 6-2 record with a 1.88 GAA, including two shutouts.

Daniel Briere leads the team with eight assists and 12 points in his first season with Philadelphia, which is playing the third game of a season-long eight game road trip.

The Flyers have seven players with at least three goals on the season and are ranked second in the league in scoring, netting 3.67 goals per game.

The Flyers have defeated the Bruins in their last two meetings.
