Predators look to get first road win

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- After finishing last season with the second-most points in the Western Conference, the Nashville Predators have endured a difficult start to the 2007-08 campaign.

The Predators look to halt their road woes on Thursday when they travel to General Motors Place to take on the Vancouver Canucks.

Nashville, which rolled to a franchise-best 110-point season in 2006-07, has been unable to get much going this season. Those struggles can be blamed almost entirely on being outscored, 21-3, in five road games, leading to a 0-5-0 record away from home.

The Predators, who went winless in their first nine road games in 2002-03, have not lost six straight away from home in regulation since January 26-March 1, 2006.

Much like Nashville's road struggles, Vancouver has surprised with its inability to win at home. The Canucks rolled to a 26-11-4 home record last season, a big reason why they won the Northwest Division title. However, that success has not carried over to this season as they have lost five of their first six home games.

With that in mind, a visit from the struggling Predators could be coming at the perfect time for the Canucks, who are 9-1-1 with one tie in the last 12 home meetings.
