Rangers face Flyers in finale of homestand

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The New York Rangers have been solid during their six-game homestand and hopes to end it on a positive note.

New York will try to capture its fifth win in six games when the Philadelphia Flyers come calling on Monday.

The Rangers pulled within three points of the Flyers in the Atlantic Division after beating the New Jersey Devils in Saturday's 2-1 shootout.

A large amount of New York's success during its 4-1-0 homestand can be traced back to goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, who has an impressive 0.99 goals-against average during the stay at home.

While the Rangers are cruising at Madison Square Garden, the Flyers have stumbled on their current eight-game road trip, going just 2-3-0 thus far.

Most recently, Mike Richards scored the go-ahead goal to help Philadelphia come away with a 3-2 triumph over the Washington Capitals on Friday.

Richards enters the matchup riding an impressive streak, collecting six goals and nine points through his last eight outings, giving the 22-year-old eight goals and 14 points on the season.

The Rangers took six of eight meetings from the Flyers last season, but the clubs split the four matchup here.
