Red Wings go for eighth straight victory, host Predators

DETROIT (Ticker) -- Henrik Zetterberg and the Detroit Red Wings host the Nashville Predators on Wednesday.

Zetterberg has registed a point in all 14 games, scoring a goal in 11 of those contests as Detroit has reeled off seven consecutive wins.

The 27-year-old left wing will look to add to his league-leading point total of 24 against the Predators.

Detroit has not allowed more than two goals in any of the games during the winning streak led by Chris Osgood.

Osgood is 7-0-1 this season and has won the last four games. After losing six games in a row, Nashville has won five of its last six contests. The Predators are led by Jason Arnott and David Legwand, who each lead the team with six goals and 13 points.

Goaltender Dan Ellis has won all four of his starts, posting a 1.35 goals-against average, while starter Chris Mason has gone just 3-7-0 with a 3.68 GAA.

The Red Wings have won the last four meetings between the two teams, and have won five straight against Nashville at home.

Last season, Detroit won as many as nine games in a row from October 25 - November 14.
