Predators begin five-game road trip vs. Flames

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Nashville Predators open a five-game road trip against the Calgary Flames on Saturday.

After dropping their first three games of the season, the Predators won for the fifth time in six tries with a 4-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Thursday. Scott Hartnell scored two goals, including the decisive tally in the third period, and defenseman Marek Zidlicky added three assists.

Tomas Voukoun made 24 saves for Nashville, which outshot San Jose, 13-5, in the second period.

Meanwhile, the Flames snapped a three-game losing streak by posting a 6-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday. Jarome Iginla netted his third goal of the season and Daymond Langkow added two assists for Calgary, which went 3-for-10 on the power play.

Netminder Miikka Kiprusoff had 26 saves for the Flames, who dominated the faceoff battle, 47-19.

The Predators captured all four meetings with the Flames last season.
