Thrashers hope to continue home dominance of Panthers

ATLANTA (Ticker) - The Atlanta Thrashers look to continue their home dominance of the Florida Panthers when the teams meet Tuesday.

The Thrashers have won the last 11 home meetings against the Panthers since their last loss in October 2003.

Atlanta had its season-best three-game win streak snapped against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, suffering a 5-3 setback. Marian Hossa scored two goals in the loss, logging his second consecutive two-point game.

Hossa had a goal and an assist against the Panthers on Friday and has four tallies and three assists in his last five games after failing to register a point in his previous five contests.

Ilya Kovalchuk had a four-game goal-scoring streak snapped on Saturday but still has eight goals in his last five games, surging into the NHL lead for tallies.

Florida has been miserable away from home this season and is tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning for the NHL-lead with seven losses on the road. The Panthers enter the game with three consecutive losses, having been outscored 11-5.
