Maple Leafs seeking third win against Canadiens

TORONTO (Ticker) - The Toronto Maple Leafs hope to continue their success against the Montreal Canadiens when the teams meet Tuesday.

Toronto has a pair of one-goal triumphs over Montreal this season.

However, this time the Maple Leafs will be without defenseman Pavel Kubina, who is out indefinitely after injuring a ligament in his knee during Saturday's loss to the New York Rangers.

Kubina assisted on Tomas Kaberle's power-play overtime goal, which gave the Maple Leafs the win in this season's first matchup between the teams. Kubina is tied for third on the team with 10 assists this season.

The Canadiens are playing well entering this matchup, having gone 7-2-1 in their last 10 contests.

Montreal is looking to rebound from a 3-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators in its last game on Saturday. The Canadiens led 1-0 after the first period against the Senators but allowed three goals in the final six minutes en route to the loss.

Despite the loss, Montreal has not trailed after the first period in any game this season.
