Coyotes to host a familiar foe

GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) - You'll have to forgive the Phoenix Coyotes if they seem a little too familiar with the Pacific Division San Jose Sharks.

When San Jose comes into Phoenix on Thursday, it will mark the third time the teams have faced each other in the past five days.

With the first two meetings occuring in San Jose, the Sharks beat the Coyotes on Saturday and Monday by a combined score of 9-1.

San Jose goaltender Evgeni Nabokov led the way, as he started both contests. He stopped 25 shots in Monday night's 5-0 victory.

Joe Thornton, who leads the Sharks with eight goals and 22 points in 18 games, led the team in scoring with two tallies and three assists over the two-game stretch.

The Coyotes last win was a 5-2 triumph over the Dallas Stars on November 8. Ed Jovanovski, who leads the squad's defensemen in points with nine, had a goal and set up two others in that game.

After the contest, San Jose will finish out the month of November on a four-game homestand.
