Avalanche look to snap four-game road skid vs. Oilers

EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) - The Colorado Avalanche's anemic road power play has them in the midst of their longest losing streak of the season.

Colorado will look to snap a four-game road losing streak against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.

The Avalanche failed to convert five power-play opportunities in losing their third straight, 4-1, to Calgary on Tuesday.

Colorado is 0-for-12 with a man advantage in the last three games and has scored just one goal in each of those contests.

The Avalanche, who have converted a league-worst 3-of-41 power-play chances on the road, has not lost five straight road games since March 16-31, 2004.

If Colorado is to get back on track it will need more production out of its top line. Paul Stastny, Marek Svatos and Wojtek Wolski have combined for just one goal and one assist during the losing streak.

But things bode well for Colorado's chances since it has won six of the last eight meetings here, including a 4-2 win on October 23.

Meanwhile, the Oilers snapped a two-game skid with a 5-4 shootout victory over Vancouver on Tuesday.
