Bruins aim for fourth win in five games

BOSTON (Ticker) - The Boston Bruins aim for their fourth win in five games on Friday as they host the New York Islanders in the opener of a home-and-home series.

P.J. Axelsson and Chuck Kobasew combined for three goals in the third period on Tuesday to help Boston rally for a 4-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

New York goaltender Rick DiPietro gave up three second-period goals as the Islanders had their two-game winning streak snapped with Wednesday's 4-1 setback to the Montreal Canadiens.

DiPietro should have a better effort against Boston - he is 5-2-1 with two ties and an impressive 2.13 goals-against average through 10 career starts in the series.

The Islanders will host the Bruins on Saturday at Nassau Coliseum, where Boston has managed a dismal 0-4-1 record since last winning there on December 11, 2001.

Boston is just 2-0-7 with three ties over the last 12 meetings.
