Flames' Iginla ready to set mark against Ducks

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - When Jarome Iginla hits the ice on Thursday, the Calgary Flames' captain will become the franchise leader in games played.

The record will come against the defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks, who are a game over .500, but only 3-7-1 on the road.

In his 11th season, the 30-year-old Iginla is currently tied with Al MacInnis at 803 regular season games played in a Calgary uniform. Iginla has 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points in 25 games.

Iginla is in the top five all-time amongst Flames players in all offensive categories, including second in goals (337), third in points (697) and fourth in assists (360).

Both teams are coming off road losses on Tuesday. Calgary dropped a 5-3 decision at Detroit, while Anaheim was blanked by Vancouver and Roberto Luongo, 4-0. It was Luongo's second consecutive shutout.

Left wing Alex Tanguay is second in scoring for the Flames, 6-6-2 at home, with six goals and 16 assists for 22 points. Center Daymond Langkow is next with nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points.

Center Ryan Getzlaf leads the Ducks in scoring with 25 points on 10 goals and 15 assists. Right wing Corey Perry is second with 19 points, including a team-high 12 goals.

Thursday's game is the first meeting of the season between the two teams. The teams split four games last year.
