Canadiens look to continue dominance of Bruins
Dec 6, 2007 - 2:31 PM Montreal (13-10-4) at Boston (14-9-3) 7:00 pm ESTBOSTON (Ticker) -- The slumping Montreal Canadiens must be thrilled to see the Boston Bruins up next on their schedule.
The Canadiens aim to end a three game losing streak Thursday when they visit the Bruins.
Montreal has won its last six games against the Bruins - including all three meetings this season. The Canadiens have outscored Boston, 24-9, over that span and have won 15 of 19 games between the Northeast Division rivals since the 2005-06 campaign.
A matchup with the Bruins figures to be a welcome one for the Canadiens, who have lost five of their last six games.
Montreal struggled on both ends of the ice Tuesday, managing a season-low 16 shots en route to a 4-1 setback to the Detroit Red Wings.
Boston finally returns home Thursday after a six-game road trip which concluded Wednesday with a 4-3 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.
Marc Savard extended his points streak to a league-best 11 games for the Bruins, who went 3-2-1 on their road trip.
The Bruins likely will be without goaltender Tim Thomas, who suffered an ankle injury late in the third period against the Devils.
