Senators look for second straight win

DALLAS (Ticker) - The Ottawa Senators hardly resemble the team that reached the Stanley Cup Finals last June.

The Senators look to win consecutive games for the first time in nearly a month when they visit the Dallas Stars on Friday.

Ottawa snapped a seven-game skid on Wednesday as Randy Robitaille scored twice and Ray Emery stopped a third-period penalty shot in a 5-4 win over Florida.

The Senators, who lost the Stanley Cup Finals in five games to Anaheim, will aim for consecutive wins for the first time since November 10-15.

It has been a strange season for Ottawa, which started the season 15-2, but followed that up with its longest losing streak since February 22 - March 9, 1996. One of the reasons for their struggles has been goaltender Martin Gerber, who is just 0-2-1 5.95 goals against-average.

They will look to get back on track against Dallas, which lost, 3-2, to San Jose on Wednesday and has failed to score more than two goals in four of its last five games.

The Stars have been getting solid play out of Marty Turco, who is 4-2 with a 1.82 GAA in his last six starts.
