Senators aim for third straight win

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) - Mike Fisher and the Ottawa Senators seem to be back on track.

Fisher and the Senators aim for a third straight win when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday.

Ottawa, which lost to Anaheim in the Stanley Cup Finals last June, has rebounded from its first seven-game losing streak in more than 10 years. The Senators started the season 15-2, but then dropped seven straight for the first time since 1996.

Ottawa snapped the losing streak with a 5-4 win over Florida last Wednesday in the opener of its season-high five game road trip. On Friday Fisher scored the game-winning goal in a 4-2 win over Dallas.

Fisher, who snapped a nine-game pointless streak in Wednesday's win, has two goals and an assist in the past two games. He had gone 14 straight games without a goal prior to the outburst.

The center has enjoyed success against the Hurricanes with four goals and six assists in his last seven games at Carolina.

The Hurricanes are coming off a 5-2 loss to Detroit on Sunday. Carolina has been inconsistent, having alternated wins with losses over its last seven games.

Despite the inconsistencies of both teams, each remains in first place in their respective divisions.
