Kings look to get season on track

DALLAS (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Kings have struggled mightily over the last two weeks. They will be hard-pressed to reverse their recent fortunes on the road against the Dallas Stars.

Anze Kopitar and the struggling Kings visit the Stars on Thursday in the fifth meeting this season between the Pacific Division rivals.

The Kings have lost their last six visits to Dallas, including a 3-0 loss here on November 19.

Despite the outstanding exploits of Kopitar, Los Angeles has dropped five of its last seven contests, including Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Kopitar scored his third goal in as many contests to extend his points streak to eight games. The second-year center leads the Kings with 15 goals and 32 points this season.

The Stars, who have five of their last seven home games overall, have outscored the Kings by a 23-10 margin during their home winning streak vs. Los Angeles.

Brenden Morrow netted the game-winning goal in overtime Monday to lift the Stars to a 5-4 triumph over the Edmonton Oilers.

Defenseman Sergei Zubov recorded a goal and three assists for Dallas, which has won nine of its last 13 contests overall.
