Flames look to continue offensive surge

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) - The Carolina Hurricanes have allowed 11 goals in the past two games. Jarome Iginla and the Calgary Flames are the last team the Hurricanes want to see.

The Flames had two players tally hat tricks on Thursday in a 9-6 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Calgary looks to continue the scoring onslaught when they visit Carolina on Friday.

Iginla and Kristian Huselius each tallied hat tricks and Dion Phaneuf had five assists in Calgary's first trip to Tampa since the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals. The Flames have now scored 92 goals in 32 games this season, good for third best in the Western Conference.

Calgary has won the first three games of its six-game road trip and owns a 7-6-1 record away from home.

Carolina also is a high-scoring team, ranking third in the Eastern Conference with 98 goals, but they have managed just two goals over their past two games - both losses.

Cam Ward was in goal for both the losses and has allowed 11 goals in his last 64 shots faced. Backup John Grahame hasn't fared much better this season with a 2-4-1 record and a 3.81 goals-against average.
