Lundqvist, Rangers set to host Coyotes

NEW YORK (Ticker) - For the best defensive team in the NHL, the New York Rangers sure have been allowing a lot of goals lately.

The Rangers and goaltender Henrik Lundqvist will look to get back to a defensive-minded mode when they host the Phoenix Coyotes on Sunday.

New York leads the league in fewest goals (70) allowed. However, they have struggled lately, giving up at least four goals in four of their last five contests.

Lundqvist, who owns a 2.05 goals-against average, has been in net for three of the four setbacks.

Prior to the last five games, New York had only allowed four goals or more in a game twice this season.

The Coyotes may be just the team to get the Rangers back into a defensive rhythm, as they rank last in the Western Conference with just 74 goals scored this season. Phoenix has dropped six of its last nine games, failing to score more than two goals in any of the losses.

The Coyotes did post a 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.
