Vrbata, Coyotes hope to continue successful road trip

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) - Radim Vrbata will look to his extend his four-game point streak and lead the Phoenix Coyotes to their third straight victory when they visit the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.

The Coyotes have won three of their four contests on their current six-game road trip, which concludes Thursday when they play the San Jose Sharks.

Vrbata scored a goal and set up another Sunday as Phoenix posted an impressive 5-1 triumph over the New York Rangers. The 26-year-old Czech has notched three tallies and seven points over the road trip, which included a solid 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.

Vrbata leads the club with 13 goals and is tied with captain Shane Doan for the team lead in points at 24. He has recorded nine of those goals in 16 contests away from home.

The Flyers are trying to snap a season-high, three-game losing streak, relinquishing 14 tallies over that stretch.

Daniel Briere scored a goal but was stopped on a penalty shot that turned the momentum as Philadelphia suffered a 4-2 setback to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. Briere has 15 tallies and 20 assists this season.

Joffrey Lupul has recorded hat tricks in two of the past four games. The third-year veteran has 12 goals and 27 points on the campaign.
