Lightning hope to end road woes in Atlanta

ATLANTA (Ticker) - The Tampa Bay Lightning look to improve on their NHL-low three road victories when they visit the Atlanta Thrashers on Tuesday.

While Tampa Bay has been one of the better home teams this season, their road mark is a dismal 3-11-1.

Tampa Bay comes into the game having lost two straight and three of its last four games overall, including a 3-2 loss to Washington on Saturday. The squad has allowed 14 goals in their last three games.

The Lightning won the first two of eight meetings between the teams this season, but Atlanta has rebounded to win the last two encounters.

Center Vincent Lecavalier, who leads Tampa Bay with 22 goals and 29 assists, has three goals and six assists in the four games against the Thrashers this season.

Right wing Martin St. Louis has two goals and seven assists against the Thrashers this season, while left wing Vaclav Prospal had four goals and four assists.

Atlanta has been outscored 22-9 in losing four straight games, including a 7-3 defeat at Ottawa on Saturday.

Left wing Ilya Kovalchuk, who has five goals and two assists against the Lightning this season, leads Atlanta with 26 goals and 43 points.
