Arnott looks to build off hat trick as Predators face Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) - After helping the Nashville Predators end a five-game losing streak, Jason Arnott will try to lead them to another win when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday.

Arnott's seventh career hat trick led the Predators to their first win since December 8, a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

It was the 33-year-old center's first multi-goal performance since the season-opening win over the Colorado Avalanche on October 4 and his first hat trick since November 16, 2005.

Arnott, who also had an assist Saturday, has 12 goals and 28 points this season. He had not had a four-point game since the season opener in 2005 when he had a tally and three assists.

The Blue Jackets have lost seven of their last 11 contests and have dropped both meetings with the Predators this season.

Overall, Columbus has lost 10 consecutive contests against Nashville. The club's last win against their Central Division rival came on April 3, 2006.

Rick Nash has been the Blue Jackets best offensive weapon, notching a team-high 18 goals and 31 points this season.
