Wild look to stay unbeaten at home

Nov 2, 2006 - 2:30 PM Vancouver (7-5-1) at Minnesota (9-2-0) 8:00 pm EST

ST. PAUL, Minnesota (Ticker) - A big reason for the Minnesota Wild's success this season is that they have been perfect at home.

The Wild look to extend their home unbeaten streak to eight games Thursday when they host the Vancouver Canucks.

Minnesota returns home after a 4-1 loss at the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday. Pavol Demitra scored the only Wild goal on the power play at 11:44 of the second period.

The Wild went 1-for-2 with the extra skater, and are a respectable 12-for-64 (18.8 percent) this season.

The Canucks try to rebound from a tough 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.

Vancouver trailed, 2-0, but tied the game on goals from defenseman Mattias Ohlund and Markus Naslund before surrendering Steve Sullivan's game-winning tally with less than six minutes left.

The Canucks' Taylor Pyatt had his five-game points streak snapped in the loss.
