Avalanche go for third straight victory at St. Louis
Nov 2, 2006 - 2:40 PM Colorado (6-4-2) at St Louis (3-5-3) 8:00 pm ESTST. LOUIS (Ticker) - The Colorado Avalanche aim for their third straight victory Thursday when they tangle with the St. Louis Blues in the second of back-to-back road games.
Colorado opened their brief trip with a 5-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday.
Five different players scored for the Avalanche, who won for the fourth time in their last six games. Goaltender Jose Theodore, who was benched for two games last week, was busy in making 41 stops.
It was the second strong performance from Theodore, who stopped 20 shots in a 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
St. Louis tries to rebound from a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Stars on Wednesday.
Keith Tkachuk got the Blues off to a good start when he tallied just 1:16 into the game, but the Blues were shut down after that.
The Blues, losers of three straight games and six of seven, went 0-for-4 on the power play.
No one has shouted yet.
