Predators looking to continue dominance of Blue Jackets

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - Despite eight meetings per season, it has been a while since the Columbus Blue Jackets celebrated a victory over the Nashville Predators.

The Blue Jackets try to end an 11-game losing streak to the Predators when the teams meet Thursday night at the Sommet Center.

Though leading-scorer Rick Nash was out with a sore throat, goaltender Pascal Leclaire made 21 saves to lead Columbus to a 2-0 triumph over the Atlanta Thrashers on Wednesday.

The Blue Jackets hope that Leclaire will be at his best Thursday as they have not defeated their Central Division rival since April 3, 2006 and have lost 16 of their previous 18 meetings.

Nashville sits in 14th in the Western Conference with just 34 points, but has defeated Columbus in all three meetings this season.

In their most recent battle on Sunday, the Predators needed video review to ensure the 3-1 victory. Jean-Pierre Dumont scored the game-winning goal with just 38 seconds left in regulation.

Jason Arnott leads Nashville club with 12 goals and 29 points this season.
