Devils gun for fourth straight win

UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) - The streaking New Jersey Devils go for their fourth straight win when they visit the New York Islanders in an Atlantic Division clash on Saturday.

New Jersey is 14-3-1 over its last 18 games and has won the last three contests despite scoring a combined five goals in regulation.

Goaltender Martin Brodeur has allowed one goal or less for three straight games, including Friday's 2-1 shootout victory over Buffalo. Brodeur is 38-19-2 with four ties in his career against the Islanders, posting a 2.15 goals-against average.

But the Devils are surprisingly 0-2-1 against the Islanders this season after going 6-1-1 against their division rival last season.

New York had a three-game winning streak snapped with a 5-2 loss at Ottawa on Thursday.

Former Devil Bill Guerin netted both goals for the Islanders and the 37-year-old right wing has four goals in his last three contests. Guerin also leads the team with 12 tallies.

Goaltender Rick DiPietro has started all but three games this season but is listed as day-to-day with a sprained knee. Wade Dubielewicz has started each game in his place and suffered the loss on Thursday, giving up five goals on 37 shots.
