Sharks hoping to end five-year drought in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - The only place the San Jose Sharks haven't won on the road lately is Nashville.

The Sharks go for their ninth straight road victory and look to end a seven-game losing streak in Nashville when they visit the Predators on Saturday.

San Jose, which hasn't won in Nashville since a 2-1 victory in October, 2002, continued its winning ways on the road Friday, escaping with a 1-0 victory over the St. Louis Blues.

Milan Michalek scored with just 3:35 left to play and Evgeni Nabokov made 26 saves for his fifth shutout and NHL-leading 20th win as the Sharks improved to 10-0-1 over their last 11 road games.

San Jose has outscored its opponents 32-16 and have killed 32-of-35 penalties over that span.

After five straight losses, the Predators have won three of their last four games - including a 4-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday.

Rookie defenseman Ville Koistinen provided the game-winner - his first NHL goal - late in the third period as the Predators captured the franchises' 300th victory.

Koistinen also added two assists in the victory and leads Nashville with a plus-10 rating.
