Comrie, Islanders look to keep rolling vs. Hurricanes

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- With Rick DiPietro ailing, the New York Islanders' offense will have to continue producing.

Mike Comrie will try to keep the Islanders' offense rolling when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night.

With goaltender Wade Dubielewicz filling in for injured starter DiPietro, who is out with a knee injury, New York scored three goals in the final 10 minutes of the game en route to a 5-2 triumph over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.

Comrie scored an empty-netter with 16 seconds left Saturday to put away the contest. He has three goals and five points over the past three games. The 27-year-old center leads the club with 12 tallies and 18 assists this season.

The Islanders have tallied an NHL-low 90 goals this season, but they have scored 18 goals en route to winning four of their previous five contests.

The Hurricanes have lost six of their past 10 games, but still maintain the lead in the Southeast Division.

Carolina has not shared New York's offensive woes this season as seven different players have registered 25 points or more. Rod Brind'Amour leads the club with 20 goals, while Cory Stillman and Ray Whitney each have a team-leading 21 assists and 39 points.
