Blue Jackets look to halt struggles in the 'Shark Tank'

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have never enjoyed playing at HP Pavilion.

The Blue Jackets will attempt to get their first regulation win in San Jose when they visit the Sharks on Saturday.

San Jose has beaten Columbus seven consecutive times at the "Shark Tank" and are 11-0-1 since the Blue Jackets entered the league in 2000. The Blue Jackets only win at the HP Pavilion came on January 8, 2004 when Rick Nash scored with 2.1 seconds left in overtime in a 3-2 triumph.

Rick Nash, who leads Columbus with 21 goals and 35 points, has six tallies and two assists in 14 career games against San Jose.

The Sharks have not had much success themselves at the HP Pavilion this season. The club has managed an NHL-low six wins at home, but still is tied with the Dallas Stars atop the Pacific Divison because of their 16-3-2 record on the road.

Evgeni Nabokov has been a workhorse in the crease for San Jose, starting all 40 games for the club this season. The 32-year-old Russian leads the NHL in wins with 22 and has posted a 2.01 goals-against average and .917 save percentage.

The Blue Jackets have won three of their previous four contests and have moved into second place in the Central Division standings.
