Blackhawks look to end skid against Red Wings

CHICAGO (Ticker) - Very few teams have enjoyed playing the Detroit Red Wings this season, but the Chicago Blackhawks have not seemed to mind.

Rookie Patrick Kane will try to help the Blackhawks snap a four-game losing streak and beat the Red Wings for the fifth time this season when the teams meet Sunday night at the United Center.

Despite going 31-5-2 against the rest of the NHL, Detroit has posted an 0-3-1 record against Chicago on the campaign.

Fortunately for the Red Wings, they will face a slumping and injury-plagued Blackhawks team. With rookie Jonathan Toews, Justin Williams and Martin Havlat on the injured reserve list, Chicago lost on all three stops during a West Coast road trip.

Kane, who leads the team with 39 points in his first season, will be expected to step up even more with all the injuries. The 19-year-old center has an assist in each of his last six contests.

Detroit is coming off a 3-0 shutout victory on Saturday over Dallas for its sixth win in their last seven games.

Dominik Hasek made 22 saves for his second shutout of the season and 78th of his career.
