Stars face Wild looking to end four-game skid

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars hope to avoid their first five-game losing streak since the 2003-04 season Monday when they host the Minnesota Wild.

Playing without right wing Jere Lehtinen (abdominal injury), defenseman Philippe Boucher (shoulder) and left wing Jussi Jokinen (leg), Dallas dropped a 3-0 home contest against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.

"Losing is frustrating, that goes without saying," Dallas coach Dave Tippett said. "We have to keep pounding away and find a way out of it."

The Wild have alternated wins and losses in their last four games, including a 4-1 loss at the Nashville Predators on Saturday. Left wing Pavol Demitra has three goals in two games against Dallas this season.

"We had maybe three or four guys that were not mentally ready to play," Minnesota coach Jacques Lemaire said. "We had a couple of mistakes and they put pucks in the net. That gave the Predators momentum."

The teams have split two games this season. In the meeting here, the Stars coasted to an 8-3 rout on December 26.
