Bruins look to win fourth straight for second time this season

BOSTON (Ticker) - The Boston Bruins already have one four-game winning streak this season. The Bruins will look to do it for a second time on Monday against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Boston's current streak comes on the heels of a six-game slide. Once nipping at the heels of Northeast Division-leading Ottawa, the Bruins now sit 12 points behind the Senators.

All three of the Bruins' wins in the current streak have come at home, where Boston is 11-6-2. Boston completes the five-game homestand Thursday against Montreal.

Tim Thomas has been in goal for the last three Bruins' games, including a 4-3 victory over New Jersey on Saturday despite being out-shot in the final period, 20-1. On the season, Thomas is 13-9-3 with a 2.28 goals-against average and was in goal for Carolina's 4-3 victory over Boston on December 28.

The Hurricanes have lost four of their last five games, including a 1-0 loss on Saturday at St. Louis. Carolina leads the Southeast Division by three points over the Atlanta Thrashers.
