Stars visit slumping Blackhawks

CHICAGO (Ticker) - The Chicago Blackhawks will try to snap a season-high six-game winless streak on Wednesday against the Dallas Stars.

The Blackhawks' struggles continued on Tuesday in a 4-3 overtime loss at Montreal, a result that dropped Chicago to 0-5-1 since a four-game winning streak ended. It was the first time in the last six games that the Blackhawks scored more than two goals.

Chicago has defeated Dallas in the first two of four meetings this season. Right wing Jason Williams has three goals in the two games against the Stars.

The Blackhawks went 2-2 against Dallas in 2006-07, the first year Chicago had defeated the Stars since the 2001-02 campaign.

Dallas snapped a four-game losing streak on Monday with a 3-1 home victory over Minnesota. The Stars, 11-9-2 on the road, had won eight of nine before enduring the recent skid.

Wednesday's game is the opener of a five-game road trip for Dallas, which is tied with San Jose for first place in the Pacific Division. The Stars have lost their last two games on the road.
