Maple Leafs, Kings anticipate high-scoring affair

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday in a battle between two of the worst defensive teams in the NHL.

The Kings have yielded 17 goals in their last three games - all losses - and have dropped 11 of their last 14. They have an NHL-worst 32 points and are buried in last place in the Pacific Division.

Los Angeles has surrendered 150 goals in 44 games - the worst mark in the NHL. They lost 7-0 to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday as Jason LaBarbera allowed three goals on seven shots and Jean-Sebastien Aubin surrendered four tallies on 22 shots.

The Kings have used four goaltenders this season, with LaBarbera owning the best goals-against average at 2.97.

The Maple Leafs and top scorer Mats Sundin will be looking to bounce back from a 5-0 shutout in Anaheim on Wednesday. Toronto has allowed 136 goals this season - the fifth-worst mark in the league.

The Leafs have lost six of their last seven games, totaling nine goals in the setbacks, while allowing 28.

Top goaltender Vesa Toskala returned to the net against the Ducks after a six-game absence and allowed all five goals on 24 shots.
