Ribeiro, Stars set to face Kings

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Mike Ribeiro and the Dallas Stars have had plenty of success against the Los Angeles Kings recently, but are yet to beat them at the Staples Center this season.

Ribeiro will try to help the Stars win in Los Angeles for the first time this season in their third attempt when they visit the Kings on Saturday.

Ribeiro has four tallies and nine points in five games against Los Angeles on the campaign. In their most recent meeting, the 27-year-old center scored two goals and set up two others in a 4-1 victory on December 13.

The Stars have posted an 11-1-1 record against the Kings over the past two seasons. Dallas has a pair of one-goal losses in Los Angeles this season.

Los Angeles captain Rob Blake will tie a franchise record for most games played by a Kings' defenseman when he sets foot on the ice Saturday. Blake is slated to play in his 780th game as a King, which would tie the mark set by Mattias Norstrom.

Blake previously held the record of 662 games until Norstrom surpassed that mark in November of 2005 after Blake went on to play for the Colorado Avalanche.

The 38-year-old Blake has four goals and 22 points on the season.

The Kings snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday. The club still lost 11 of its last 15 contests.
