Without Crosby, Penguins look to bounce back against Canadiens

MONTREAL (Ticker) - In their first full game without Sidney Crosby, the Pittsburgh Penguins will look to get their offense going against the surging Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.

The reigning Hart Trophy winner left Friday's 3-0 loss against Tampa Bay with a high ankle sprain and could be out for an extended period of time after he is re-evaluated on Saturday. Crosby was pulled down from behind and slid into the boards, jamming his right foot at the 7:37 mark of the first period.

"Obviously, it is a huge loss," Pittsburgh coach Michel Therrien said. "There is no team that can deal with losing the best player in the league. He is the heart and he is our leader. We are going to face adversity and we are going to have to battle through it."

Without their captain and leading scorer, the Penguins were shut out for just the second time all season, losing for the first time in 11 games in regulation. Pittsburgh had gone 9-0-1 in its previous 10 games.

Montreal has been playing well lately, going 7-1-2 in its last 10 games, including two straight wins.

Montreal is coming off a 3-2 shootout win against Atlanta on Thursday, which capped a four-game road trip.

The Canadiens are 2-0 against the Penguins so far this season with both wins coming on the road.
