Senators look to get back on track without Heatley

SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) -- The Ottawa Senators have not enjoyed life without Dany Heatley.

The Senators look to avoid a three-game skid when they visit the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.

Ottawa, which owns the best record in the Eastern Conference, have not been the same since Heatley suffered a separated shoulder in a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on January 12. The club has lost four of their last five games since then.

The Senators' problems were made even worse when Daniel Alfredsson suffered a hip flexor Thursday and missed the last two games. Ottawa managed just one goal in those contests without its two top scorers.

The Panthers are opening a four-game homestand, having lost nine of their previous 12 games. Florida has not enjoyed much success on home ice this season, posting a 9-11-3 record in South Florida.

Captain Olli Jokinen leads the club with 23 goals and 46 points this season.
