Rangers hire Leetch, Richards as hockey ops advisors

Sep 5, 2017 - 4:41 PM The New York Rangers hired former stars Brian Leetch and Brad Richards as hockey operation advisors, the team announced Tuesday.

Leetch and Richards will work on prospect development and assist with on-ice development for the Rangers and the Hartford Wolf Pack, the team's American Hockey League affiliate.

An 11-time NHL All-Star, Leetch played parts of 17 seasons with the Rangers during his Hall of Fame career. He was the top defenseman on the team that snapped the franchise's 54-year Stanley Cup drought in 1994, with Leetch claiming the Conn Smythe Trophy in the process.

Richards played three seasons with the Rangers from 2011-2014, helping the team advance to the 2014 Stanley Cup Final against the Los Angeles Kings.
