Maple Leafs sign D Polak to professional tryout
Sep 14, 2017 - 3:29 PM The Toronto Maple Leafs signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Roman Polak to a professional tryout contract, the team announced Thursday.Polak is working his way back from a gruesome leg injury sustained during Toronto's first-round playoff series against the Washington Capitals.
The 31-year-old Czech collected four goals and seven assists in 75 regular-season games in 2016-17.
Polak has recorded 23 goals, 92 assists and 504 penalty minutes in 634 career contests with the St. Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks and Maple Leafs.
