Rangers aim to snap road skid in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) - The New York Rangers aim to snap a seven-game road losing streak in a venue that has been kind to them over the years.

Scott Gomez and the Rangers aim for a sixth straight win in Philadelphia when the visit the Flyers on Thursday.

The league's lowest scoring team with 125 goals, the Rangers have not won on the road since a 6-1 victory over Toronto on December 29. New York struggled again offensively in a 3-1 loss at Carolina on Tuesday.

Gomez has been the most consistent scorer with 11 goals and a team-high 37 assists.

New York could end its road woes in Philadelphia, where its has won nine of the last 10 meetings between the teams dating to March 27, 2004.

The Flyers enter having won eight of 10, and unlike the Rangers, have no problems scoring. Philadelphia, which is third in the league with 163 goals, is coming off a 3-2 win over Los Angeles on Tuesday.

New York has won two of the three meetings from Philadelphia this season. The Flyers did post a 6-2 win at New York on January 10.
