Lundqvist, Rangers visit Devils

NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) - Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers look to continue their recent domination of the New Jersey Devils on Friday when the teams square off in an Atlantic Division battle.

The Rangers have won the first four meetings between the teams this season by a combined score of 9-3. Lundqvist has been in net for all of the the victories, posting two shutouts.

The Swedish netminder should be rested and back in net after backup goaltender Stephen Valiquette posted his first career shutout on Thursday when the Rangers blanked Philadelphia, 4-0. Chris Drury registered a goal and an assist.

The Devils have lost the first two games of a five-game homestand, including a 4-2 defeat to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Goaltender Martin Brodeur, who has 38 career wins against the Rangers, has been in net for all four defeats to their divisional rivals this season. But two of the losses have come after regulation and the veteran netminder does have a 1.97 goals-against average against the Rangers this season.

Leading-scorer Zach Parise has 18 tallies on the season, but has scored only two in his last 12 games - both coming in a 7-3 victory over Philadelphia on January 22.
