Jokinen, Panthers roll into Toronto

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Captain Olli Jokinen hopes to lead the Florida Panthers to their third straight win Tuesday when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Jokinen scored the tying goal in the third period and Richard Zednik notched the game-winner in Saturday's 3-2 triumph over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The 29-year-old Jokinen has five tallies and five assists in the last 10 games and leads the club with 25 goals and 51 points this season.

Florida is tied with the Washington Capitals for third place in the Southeast Division, just three points back of the Carolina Hurricanes and Atlanta Thrashers for the divisional lead.

The Maple Leafs avoided a fourth straight loss Saturday with a 4-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators. Jason Blake scored a goal and set up another in the victory.

Blake has 11 goals and 23 assists this season, his first with Toronto.

The Maple Leafs reside at the bottom of the Northeast Division but have posted a 12-9-5 record at home this campaign.
