Sabres look to continue winning ways vs. Bruins

BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) - The Buffalo Sabres look to keep rolling on Friday when they host the Boston Bruins.

The Sabres have won two games in a row and five of their previous six, including a 3-2 shootout victory over the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday.

Jason Pominville, Buffalo's leading scorer with 46 points this season, scored a goal against the Devils to extend his consecutive points streak to five games. Pominville, who has three goals and five assists in his last five contests, recorded two helpers in a 4-2 triumph over the Bruins on Tuesday.

Tuesday's loss was the second straight for Boston after they completed a three-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Ottawa Senators on January 31.

Against the Sabres, Chuck Kobasew assisted Glen Metropolit's last-second goal, pushing his consecutive point streak to five games. P.J. Axelsson notched his first tally since returning from a bruised foot which kept him out for seven games after he suffered the injury against the Montreal Canadiens on January 10.
